Artists I've worked with...... more fluff.

PATRICK VON WIEGANDT

A long time ago……I saw the Beatles on TV and I wanted in. For the last 40 years, I've been a musician, producer, engineer and performer. I 've been blessed to work with the best in the biz - and they have taught me everything - and how to have fun at the same time. I love making records and performing.

Started as a guitar/bass player singer in local bands in Hawaii as a kid. Moved to New York City in the early 70’s and got into the record biz at Warner, Electra, Altantic Records doing sales and promotion. Learned to write music and record albums.

Moved to Hollywood in mid 70’s and became a recording engineer and producer. Got to work with my heroes including...... Barbara Streisand, Toto, David Foster, Bill Champlin, Lee Ritenour, Dolly Parton, Earth Wind and Fire, Hall and Oates, Brenda Russell, Alice Cooper, Steely Dan, Smokey Robinson, Frankie Valli and Four Seasons, The Carpenters and hundreds more.

Got to work and learn from the Grammy winning master Producers and Engineers including Al Schmitt, Tommy Lipuma, David Foster, Humberto Gatica, Armin Steiner, Alan Parsons and many more.

Joined the Recording Academy in 1983 and have been a voting member since.

I've come out of my singing closet over the last 10 years and I'm having the time of my life. Just finished my new solo CD – SWANKY – my loving tribute to the great songs of my parents generation and the jazz age.

I asked my old pal and mentor, Grammy legend producer/engineer Al Schmitt, to help us on SWANKY and he took us on a wonderful journey to Capitol Studios in Hollywood where we put this magic together with some of the best musicians around.

I hope you enjoy it.

SWANKY  "I think it's a masterpiece of immense quality. Your voice is hypnotic simply great. ....in this time period of my life you are my sound-track.  I wanted to congratulate you for the beauty of your work and your album.” - Alessio Miraglia

With the Bowler hat on the cover and first line of Swanky, I knew this was going to be a stellar CD, all the way through. I exclaimed in delight, over an unexpected bit of relevancy. It is absolutely a priceless gem, faithfully re-creating, not only the phenomenal instrumental artistry of the past, but the sweet, carefree atmosphere! (True confession--I had to do a little Charleston, about halfway through!) I couldn't help noticing the background music is exactly what it should be, and mixed expertly. Challenging vocals are perfectly in time, and relaxed. The emotional tone is reminiscent--and there are plenty of hilarious surprises. The end is special, too. Don't miss this one!” - Peggy Carr

“Swanky is a mood...a presence...a voice. Swanky is a fresh take on some of the most elegant, engaging and absolutely wonderful songs ever composed. Singer Patrick Von Wiegandt takes us on an affectionate musical tour of the Jazz Age and the Big Band era. Legendary Engineer/Mixer, Al Schmitt supervised the recording at Capitol Studios, Hollywood.” - Rick Knowles
